12 Days of Xmas
I've been loving the amazing 12 Days of Xmas show - over 70 graffiti artists (and my photos) in the cells and offices of Bridewell, the ex-police station in the heart of Bristol. It's just huge, and so amazing - with installations in the cells, a huge range of art, and now an online shop for people who can't make it to the show.... check the site, www.12daysofxmas.co.uk.....
This is possibly my favourite bit of the show - installation by Filthy Luker. Well, it's my favourite today, I keep changing my mind...
My photos of the show will live here, and my pics of Bridewell before the show was up are here....

Graffle!
You buy a ticket for £5. You could win art by banksy, Nick Walker, Jamie Reid, Xenz, Dicy, Motorboy, yaka and many many more...... and if you don't (and if you do) all proceeds go to Bristol children's charities.
They're having an opening party at Bridewell tomorrow (Friday 14th Dec) at the 12 Days of Xmas show, 8-10pm. Then you can buy tickets from selected outlets until the draw on 18th January at Guerilla Gallery.
Sounds pretty fab to me, but don't take my word for it, check the website: www.graffle.co.uk and spread the word!

klingatron
This isn't actually graffiti, but it's stencilling, it's bloody gorgeous, and it's in Bristol...
klingatron is by far and away the best stencil artist I've ever seen in my life. Seriously, his stuff is jaw-droppingly fabulous. If I had the money I'd have bought this one in a heartbeat.
Don't just take my word for it - check his site www.klingatron.com, and if you're lucky enough to be in or near Bristol this month, head over to Workshop to see his show there. I've seen and liked a lot of shows there, but this one is by far the best!

That new (possible) Banksy
So this appeared last week, opposite the entrance to the Children's Hospital, and on the day the Met were going to court (over health & Safety) for the murder of Jean-Charles de menezes. Which point to Banksy, and the fact it looks like his style. But it's not signed by him - and there are enough talented stencillers in the city to mock up a Banksy, especially since the City Council has declared him sacred. It raises all sorts of questions about whether it's possible to verify stencils etc - and even if it were 'signed', that's just a stencil too, right? So no one knows - apparently his spokesperson is looking to him for a comment, but knowing him, his only comment would be "I'm not commenting!". And does it really matter anyway? After all, it's a really well-done, interesting stencil, whoever made it. Ah, graffiti mysteries, I love them!
(There's a pic of this with a bit more context here)
